Nannies
A nanny is a professional child carer and they take responsible care of your children.
They usually work 10-12 hours a day and usually have sole charge of your children. They have some form of childcare qualification, which contributes to a positive learning environment.
Live-in Nanny
- Live-in nannies should be treated as a part of the family
- They usually babysit up to 2 nights a week
- They usually have 2 full days off per week
- They are treated as an employee (usually 4 weeks of paid holidays, sick pay and maternity pay. All must be stated in the contract between family and nanny) or they can be self employed
- Salary is £250 – £450 net per week
Live-out Nanny
- Full time live-out nannies usually work from 8am – 6pm
- Any babysitting outside these hours is paid as overtime
- They are treated as an employee (usually 4 weeks of paid holidays, sick pay and maternity pay. All must be stated in the contract between family and nanny) or they can be self employed
- Salary is £ 7.50 – £11 per hour net (it depends on the nanny’s qualifications, experience and location)
